i have a question about a persian movie i saw many years ago that i don't know the name of. it had a brother and a sister and the sister had four dolls ( a crow, a doll, a dog, and a robot) and there was this lady who drank a potion that made her into a man. and then the man took the kids into a dungeon with a spider in it. and there was a detective looking for the kids.

I am currently looking for people to participate in a study of bilingualism. It is part of an undergraduate course regarding the syntax of bilingualism at the University of Toronto.

I require people who speak both Farsi and English and currently live in an English speaking country. The research experiment involves creating Farsi sentences using some English words, judging the acceptability of some mixed sentences, and a language profile questionnaire.

It will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to complete. There is no compensation, but it is an opportunity to contribute to academic research regarding bilingualism. (And you will be doing me a huge favour!)

If you are interested in participating, or would like to know more, please comment here or email me at ninapersian@gmail.com

Thank you, and happy new year!

(PS - you don't need to be able to read and write in Farsi, it's all transliterated into the English alphabet!)

salaam bacheha!

yik so'al daram: I'm looking for a Persian tv show that was out 4-5 years ago. I don't remember the title, but the plot was about a little boy being kidnapped by two men (one had a mustache) and his father tries to rescue him.

I'm pretty sure that Mohammad Reza Foroutan is the kidnapper with the mustache. if anyone knows what I'm talking about please tell me.

I really like the design of this shirt but can't make out what's written. Obviously I don't want to go around wearing something if I don't know what it means. Can anyone read it?

Thanks!

Alphabet order in Farsi dictionaries [28 Mar 2007|02:23pm]

klausnick
It is common knowledge that the alphabet order in Arabic and Farsi differs: whereas in Arabic the last three letters go this way -- ha, wa, ya, in Farsi their order is like this -- wa, ha, ya. I tried to find an explanation of this fact, but all my efforts were in vain. I hope that you guys will help me to solve this mystery.

Hi,
I'm new here... I'm Russian and I don't speak Farsi, so I apologize for the intrusion. This is really silly, but I need help quite desperately with a translation - if indeed it's possible to translate this.
